ADVANCE - Walnut Collection
This walnut sculpture explores balance, precision, and form through the interplay of segmented geometry and organic material. Composed of eight meticulously cut wooden segments, each slice runs in perfect parallel, collectively forming a spheroid shape. Two of the segments are subtly elongated, extending beyond the form to serve as structural supports that elevate the piece, both physically and conceptually.
The walnut is sanded to a smooth, tactile finish, emphasizing the natural grain and warmth of the wood. In contrast, the interior faces between the slices are painted a crisp white, introducing a stark, graphic element that highlights the spatial rhythm and negative space within the form. This interplay of solid and void, warm and cool, invites viewers to consider ideas of containment and openness, structure and flow.
Minimal yet deeply intentional, the sculpture sits at the intersection of craft and contemplation—a study in harmony, contrast, and the quiet power of material.
